1939 Cape Cod Knockabout

Hague, New York

$19,500

This classic antique sailboat has been owned and operated on Lake George, NY for most of its life. The current owner purchased the boat in 1996 from avid sailors of the Lake George Club. The boat was used in many regattas, earning it the #2 Club Sail. The boat underwent a 2-year professional restoration immediately after purchase in 1996: including the replacement and refastening of all needed planks and frames. A new canvas deck and mahogany trim were installed, and a full repaint was done to bring the boat back to its original, classic glory. This boat is the perfect addition to a summer on the Lake.

The custom-built trailer allows for easy loading and launching. The boat is sailed regularly and has been stored in a warehouse every winter. Recently the bottom paint has been redone, the mahogany brightwork has been refreshed and the entire boat has had a thorough cleaning. It performs beautifully and is impressively tight for a boat of this design. For hard sailing, it's fitted with 2 bilge pumps, only needed if water is splashing over the gunnels.
